Chinese club allegedly ‘reach agreement’ with Chelsea star

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to realise that he could be set for a Stamford Bridge departure…

Diego Costa has been in the news over the last few days, and unfortunately for Chelsea fans – it has been for all the wrong reasons.

After a reported bid from China, Costa has reportedly fallen out with Antonio Conte and is seeking a move – leaving his Chelsea future hanging in the balance.

Now, several days later, a deal for the Spanish forward is quickly becoming more likely – though it would seem as though a transfer may not be as immediate as first expected.

According to Calcio Mercato, the president of Chinese side Tianjin Quanjian has confirmed that Costa has reached an agreement with the side, stating: ““We have managed to find an economic agreement with the entourage of Diego Costa”.

However, in news that will come as a boost to the Chelsea faithful – he also confirmed that Chelsea have refused to sell at present: “Chelsea has stated that no one will be sold before June”.

Whilst the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased that Costa will not be sold this month, they think that the fact that a potential departure in June is looming over the head of the Spanish forward is likely to disrupt his performances. What’s more, should Costa attempt to force through a move, who knows what could happen in the coming weeks…

Our landlord thinks it will be difficult for Conte to move on from Costa when you consider how impressive he has been this season, with 14 Premier League goals already scored so far.
