Chinese club attempt to lure Man United captain in £75m deal

rooney777Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have spent the best part of the last few months avoiding their other halves, downing pints and discussing the latest transfer rumours.

The Daily Mail has grabbed their attention today with an interesting story which states Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG are desperate to lure Wayne Rooney to the Far East.

Led by former England coach Sven Goran Eriksson, the Chinese side are willing to offer the Three Lions record goalscorer a staggering £25m-a-year.

Now 30-years-old, United are preparing for a future without their captain as he approaches the twilight of his career- and our fans are declaring they won’t miss him, as his poor form in front of goal has seen him become an overly expensive commodity.

Shanghai SIPG are determined to land Rooney as soon as possible but are prepared to wait for their man, whilst they’re also targeting another high-profile move to land Chelsea boss John Terry.

United fans, would you be happy to see Rooney leave? Let us know in the comments below!
