Chinese club lodge lucrative offer to Chelsea forward

remyy77Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have uttered more curse words than we’d care to count this afternoon, after it was reported that clubs from China were circling their players once again.

Following Ramires’ exit last month to the Far East, The Mirror now says Shanghai Shenhua are offering the Blues £11m for the signature of French international striker Loic Remy.

The financial lure of Chinese clubs has grown significantly in the past few months, with Jackson Martinez and Alex Teixeira being two of the big names swapping Europe for Asia recently.

With the Chinese transfer window running until late February, there’s still scope for some big deals to be completed and Shenhua, who boast former Everton favourite Tim Cahill amongst their ranks, have tabled a lucrative offer to Remy.

Remy was heavily linked with an exit from Chelsea in January but an exit was ruled-out, with Radamel Falcao struggling for injuries, but it seems the Blues still have a battle on their hands.

Our landlord is concerned by the growth of the Chinese market, believing it will become too strong for many European nations to compete with.

Chelsea fans, would you sell Remy this month? Let us know in the comments below!
