The Brighton fans are in the Football Transfer Tavern and are excitedly murmuring about the chances of a new striker signing for the club.
Chris Hughton has joined the race to sign Denmark u21 star, Kenneth Zohore following two rejected bids from Hull City.
Brighton are reportedly wanting to bolster their attack with another striker in an attempt to secure their spot in the Premier League come the end of next season.
Zohore scored 12 goals and managed five assists in the Championship for Cardiff last season, so he really was a key part of Neil Warnock’s side.
However, the Championship is the highest level of football that the 23-year-old has played in before, so the question must be asked.
Can he make the jump required to the Premier League?
Chris Hughton believes he can and the report from the Sun says that the Brighton manager is hoping the lure of top flight football will be enough to bring the player to the club.
Glenn Murray managed 23 goals in the Championship last year and Anthony Knockaert scored 15 from his right-wing position.
Unfortunately for Brighton, Murray isn’t getting any younger at 33-years-old and Knockaert can’t be expected to get all the goals from the wing.
So, if Brighton can lure Zohore to the club, they may have just found a young striker who can score them a lot of goals for years to come.
