City Spark Serie A Striker Swap Shop

The as good as done move of Robinho to AC Milan from Manchester City has caused Serie A’s top clubs to become embroiled in a last minute frenzy of striker transfers.

Robinho going to Milan, as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming in on loan from Barcelona, has seen the Rossoneri let Klass-Jan Huntelaar join German club Schalke 04 for a reported £10.5m.

They’re now trying to offload Marco Boriello as well. Juventus were favourites to sign him after agreeing terms with Milan, but Boriello’s high wage demands of Euro4m a year has seen Juve pull out of the deal. Boriello is now talking to Roma apparently.

David Trezeguet left Juventus after a ten year stint with the Old Lady to join Spanish BBVA newcomers Hercules. With Trezeguet gone and the Boriello deal dead in the water Juve are now trying to prize Giampaolo Pazzini from Sampdoria, for around Euro20m.

Pazzini has been a revelation for Sampdoria, scoring thirty league goals in fifty six games in a devastating partnership with former Real Madrid forward Antonio Cassano.

Sources say Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has been to Sampdoria personally to try to negotiate a deal before the closure of the transfer window.

The sheer amount of deals on the cards must be mind boggling for you innocent readers so here is a concise list of what deals are done and which are said to be going through today.
