No one in the Football Transfer Tavern seems to be able to talk about anything other than Mario Balotelli’s imminent move away from the Premier League and now the Daily Mirror have added another twist to the tale.
They claim that not only will AC Milan offer cash for the bad boy striker but they will also use Kevin-Prince Boateng as a makeweight in the deal. Of course Boateng is well known to us in the Premier League after a spell at Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth and the Ghanaian shot into the worldwide headlines earlier this campaign after protesting against racial abuse in Italy by leaving the field – leading the player to question his future in Serie A.
Whilst Sky Italia claim that Balotelli is willing to cut his salary by a million euros annually in order to force through a move, it is also feasible that City will accept Boateng as part of the deal. The issue that is holding up the deal between City and AC is money and as we have seen throughout the transfer window and in Serie A in particular, there is very little to spend.
For AC Milan to cough up the £24 million City are asking for Mario Balotelli it will take a great deal of negotiation and just yesterday we were discussing their attempts to offload players in order to raise some last minute cash.
Will Boateng forge part of the Balotelli deal or has this rumour been hitting the booze? Rate this rumour below.
