Manchester City continue to march towards the Premier League title, and although this week saw a huge setback with their Champions League hammering courtesy of Liverpool, it’s still been a superb showing from City this term.
The summer is bound to be another interesting one for the club, with many, including our landlord here in the Tavern, believing their isn’t much room for improvement in the City squad.
However, with question marks still over the future of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus still recovering from injury, the Citizens could well opt to make a move for a new striker.
One such player though who fits the mould is Lazio ace Ciro Immobile, who has been on fire this season for the Rome club, smashing in 26 goals already this season.
The Italian has been on fire since moving back to Serie A from the Bundesliga from Borussia Dortmund, and there is a strong sense in the footballing world that he would be well suited to the Premier League if given the chance.
At 27-years-old, he still has time to really reach his prime, and a move to a club like City would be something Immobile simply would not be able to turn down.
A classy striker with a keen eye for goal, it would be interesting to see how he adapts to England, and he could well be an ideal replacement for Aguero if City do decide to move their legendary Argentine striker on.
City fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
