Manchester City

Classy Real Madrid World Cup winner is one of few players who can improve Man City squad next summer

Manchester City are romping clear of the Premier League’s chasing pack in the hunt for the title and are on course to set a European record of games won in a row following their win over Newcastle United this week.

The City fans here in the Tavern have been dancing about for much of the holiday season, and our landlord has been welcoming them to the bar with open arms as the beer and singalongs have flowed over the festive period.

Despite the festive cheer though, there’s still a small pocket of City fans over by the bar who think that the squad could be improved even further, and this week they’ve been chatting with our landlord about who’s out there who could do that. One such player who our gaffer mentioned as someone who’d improve the starting XI at City is Real Madrid man Toni Kroos.

The German World Cup winner has been a persistent figure in the Madrid side since sealing a move from Bayern Munich, and has become one of the games great central midfield players in the process.

Kroos is a class act in the middle. His passing range is second to none, and his calmness and ability to keep play ticking over has made Madrid purr over the last few years as they have sealed consecutive Champions League titles.

Fernandinho does an excellent job for City in the middle, but there’s definitely an argument to be had for Kroos improving things, and he’d be a superb addition to the ranks at the Etihad either in January, or in the summer of 2018.

City fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
