The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern had high hopes for this young forward at the start of the season…
James Wilson is, undoubtedly, one of Man Utd’s most talented young players – with the forward breaking into the first team under Louis van Gaal, before a loan deal to Derby County this season.
He was expected to kick on and progress this season, with a Man Utd first team role undoubtedly beckoning for the youngster.
However, a cruel knee injury, unfortunately, cut his season short – and it has now been confirmed that his spell with Derby is over.
As confirmed on Derby’s official website, the club have come to an agreement with Man Utd over the return of Wilson to Old Trafford – with his one-year loan spell cancelled at the half-way point. He was unlikely to play this season due to the injury anyway, but this agreement has served as confirmation of that.
The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern were expecting big things from Wilson this season, but they are now fearing the worst after such a long-term injury.
Prior to his loan to Derby, Wilson had been impressing. He bagged 5 goals during a loan spell in the 2015/16 season with Brighton, whilst the forward also bagged his first Man Utd goal in 2014/15.
A player with an undoubtedly bright future, our landlord is backing him to come back even better.
