Club insider says Chelsea star has to leave the club this summer

HazardChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have reacted furiously to comments from a man they know well, which has led many to storm out in anger.

Talksport quotes former Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins as slamming Blues star Eden Hazard, stating he must leave this summer if his heart isn’t in it.

Hazard caused controversy in Tuesday night’s defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, which saw the Blues crash out of the Champions League, as he swapped shirts Angel Di Maria at half-time and put in another poor performance.

It’s been the latest game in a shocking run of form for Hazard this term, with the Belgian failing to replicate the performances that saw him sweep to numerous personal accolades at the end of last season, and Wilkins says Chelsea have no choice but to offload him.

“Over the last couple of games it has appeared that his heart is not in it. Whether he is lacking an immense amount of confidence [I don’t know]. He was absolutely outstanding last season. I think even Jose Mourinho said he was the best under-24 player in the world last year.”

“His drop from grace has been dramatic. It might be better off that he does part company [with the club]. He is hugely talented and he showed at times last night with a couple of little turns and darts away from people that he is a top quality player, but if your heart’s not in it, then why stay?”

Our landlord agrees with Wilkins’ comments but the fans in the bar differ completely, as they still feel Hazard is a quality player who would prove impossible to replace.

Chelsea fans, should you offload Hazard this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
