Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern had hoped that the start of 2016 would see better fortune for their lacklustre side but their disappointment has continued in the transfer market, leading our fans to order rounds of our strongest spirits.
The Blues are looking for the right sort of additions to improve their displays on the field and increase their chances of firing themselves up the table but it now seems a swoop for the Brazilian star is dead in the water.
Chelsea’s disappointment comes after Shakhtar boss Mircea Lucescu insisted Teixeira is going nowhere this month, as he’s quoted by Italian reports to have said:
“He needs to play more with us to develop further, although his level is already very high. But if he sticks around, the offers in June could be higher.”
“At the moment we have not received any offers and of course, in the future if we receive one which satisfies the club we will consider it.”
One Chelsea punter at the bar, looking a bit worse for wear, is holding onto tattered strings but stating Shakhtar could accept the right bid now- but our landlord is convinced the Ukrainian side will demand any interested parties wait until the end of the season.
