The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been laughing off comments from former United man, Dwight Yorke, as the 46-year-old claimed that United and City aren’t a class apart when you just look at the players. Yorke stated that if Pep Guardiola was at United then they’d have won the league down to his style of football as opposed to Jose Mourinho who he said: “wants to go 1-0 up and be defensive.”
Dwight Yorke (ex-Utd): "Look on the blue half of Manchester. Don’t tell me those players are so far superior to the players we have. The difference is they’ve got a manager who thinks positive and plays attacking football. We have a manager who wants to win 1-0 and be defensive." pic.twitter.com/RbOQeFBLva

The comments from the former United man, who played a key role in Manchester United’s most successful ever season, winning the treble in 1999. The Manchester United legend refused to believe that the quality of players on the blue half of Manchester are better than those at Old Trafford, which has led to the Citizens propping our bar up ridiculing the Trinidad and Tobago international for his views.
The gap between 1st and 2nd in the Premier League currently stands at a massive 16 points. Manchester City have been absolutely dominant in the Premier League, dropping just 12 points all season and looking on track to break the records for most wins, points and goals by a single team in a season. Despite that, Dwight Yorke believes that if Guardiola was the gaffer at Old Trafford then things would be very different, taking a blatant swipe at Jose Mourinho in the process.
You can see what our resident Sky Blues make of Yorke’s comments here:
Pep only knows how to attack attack and attack, he enjoys the game by by scoring goals not by parking bus like Mou.

But our players are far more superior Dwight

He should know that they are far superior

Yeah because a midfield of Herrera, Matic and Pogba are on par with Silva, De Bruyne and Fernandinho.
Jog on Yorky!
