It’s been another day of busy Saturday afternoon football action here in the Football Transfer Tavern and one set of supporters closely following their side were Manchester United fans.
A group of Red Devils fans gathered around the 50-inch plasma earlier today to keep up with proceedings from Old Trafford against West Bromwich Albion when news of a new possible transfer target was revealed.
The Express report that Colombian star Fredy Guarin could be a target for the Old Trafford club after the player’s agent revealed that new boss David Moyes is reportedly a keen admirer of the former Porto midfielder.
The 27-year-old has endured a tough start to the season at Inter Milan and was even booed by fans in the recent match against Fiorentina which has brought about suggestions that he could depart the San Siro in the near future.
The player’s agent, Marcelo Ferreyra, has refused to comment on whether Manchester United made contact regarding his client over the summer and has tried to downplay speculation that Guarin wants a move.
He said: “Fredy is happy at Inter for several reasons. Mazzarri has confidence in him and relies on him to be the protagonist.
“The possibility of renewal? I repeat, Fredy is happy here. He wants to try and win things here and that’s what he is working towards. His contract expires in 2016 and that’s all there is to it.
“Did Manchester United try to sign him? I can’t say, but David Moyes appreciates him.
“But for now his head is at Inter, and only Inter.”
Does this seem like a realistic target for Moyes and United? Let us know your thoughts below.
