‘Come back and save us’ – Chelsea fans demand return of loanee after player’s Twitter post

The Chelsea fans were completely lost for words in the Transfer Tavern last night after they watched their side suffer a humbling defeat against Watford at Vicarage Road.

Antonio Conte’s side had an opportunity to strengthen their grip on the top-four last night after Liverpool and Tottenham shared the spoils at Anfield on Sunday, but they failed to take advantage of that result as they slumped to a 4-1 defeat. The Blues endured a difficult first half against a Watford side who seemed well up for the occasion, and their eagerness to regain possession high up the pitch contributed to Tiemoue Bakayoko’s sending off after 30 minutes.

From that moment forward, things went from bad to worse as Troy Deeney put Watford in front from the penalty spot before half-time. However, Chelsea looked like they may stage a late fightback when Eden Hazard delightfully curled home an equaliser from distance in the 80th minute, but their hope was short-lived.

Daryl Janmaat, Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra added three goals for Watford in the space of 7 minutes to condemn Chelsea to their second straight defeat in the Premier League.

Following the disappointing result, Borussia Dortmund striker Michy Batshuayi – who recently moved on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the season – posted a tweet expressing his disappointment at the result.

Batshuayi made a dream start to his life at Dortmund by scoring twice and providing an assist on his debut last Friday night, and some of the supporters are beginning to wonder if the club made a poor decision to allow the Belgian striker to leave last month.

Here’s what the Chelsea fans had to say in response to Batshuayi’s post on Twitter…
