The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern very much enjoyed last night’s England game. All five of the Spurs players in the squad featured, with three of them scoring in the penalty shootout. However, as well as keeping an eye on their five England boys, and Davinson Sanchez of course, the fans were keeping a close eye on their summer transfer target, Wilmar Barrios.
Harry Kane swapped shirts with Tottenham Hotspur summer target Wilmar Barrios at the end of tonight’s match.
Full credit to the midfielder, already seems to understand the hate for Liverpool players.

During the tense round-of-sixteen tie last night the commentary team were keen to get across the fact that Barrios was a Tottenham target and after his tidy midfield performance and winding up of many of the England team, the Spurs fans look convinced by Barrios. The 24-year-old found himself to be one of the unlucky ones to have to face Harry Kane, however, if he does switch Boca Juniors for Tottenham Hotspur, he’ll have more joy.
The Lilywhites will be keen to sign a player like Barrios. He’s good in possession and is able to pick a pass when needed and would fit in perfectly alongside the club’s defensive midfield options Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama. It’s likely that the Colombian would come cheap too, with a Transfermarkt valuation of just £7.2 million, Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy would probably be able to prise the player from Argentina for a fee of around £15 million.
You can what our local Lilywhites have been saying about Barrios here:
I want to see him take on Jack Wheelchair

I was impressed with barrios tonight. But I don’t see where he fits in. He’s a defensive mid, and we have Dier and wanyama already. We need a ball playing CM who can break lines to replace moussa, not another defensive type.

If it happens, I can see Henderson waiting for Barrios next season

ITS HAPPENING SIIIIIIIIII

we have long needed a nasty piece.. he was wicked tonight

As you can see, the Tottenham fans in the Tavern would love a wind-up merchant like Barrios and he’d be as useful for his antics as he would for his talent in North London.
