Liverpool are targeting Algeria’s young starlet Ryad Boudebouz.
He is yet another player from France who Damien Comolli is keeping tabs on and he will be going to watch him play for Sochaux before the New Year. He is a French born Algerian who has chosen to represent Algeria at international level and he has a very bright future ahead of him.
Valued at just £4million and having a host of clubs including Spurs and Lyon after him, Boudebouz looks to be a great capture, but at 20-years old is he one to break straight into the first team? It looks as though Liverpool see him as a player for the future but with the squad they possess currently, surely they should be looking for improvements the the first eleven.
We saw mid-week against FC Utrecht as to what their second string squad is like and they are definately weak but still many first teamers should quite easily be displaced and Comolli and Hodgson desperately need to find players to do that.
Boudebouz is an attacking midfielder, he has flair and can pass the ball well, another Joe Cole maybe? Liverpool should be looking at more commanding players with the “know how” to show the fighting spirit of a Steven Gerrard or a Jamie Carragher. We’ve all seen Comolli’s targets lately, and yes they are very good, he needs to bring them in first before looking to future players otherwise both he and Hodgson will be out the door before seeing these kind of players develop.
