CaughtOffside.com are reporting that Liverpool are in the headlines again for yet another big money move in January – this time its for Sao Paolo’s £30m rated Brazilian midfielder, Lucas.
The 19 year-old’s eye catching performances in his second full season with Sao Paolo have alerted Europe’s top clubs. Liverpool’s Director of Football, Daniel Comolli scoured the globe during the summer for new talent with Lucas being high up on his list. Although Dalglish has already spent heavily in the summer it is believed the Anfield boss will ask Red’s American owners to dip into their pockets again in January to push for a Champions League spot.
The attacking-midfielder is now a regular for the national team so a move to one of Europe’s powerhouses in the near future is inevitable. Tottenham, Inter and Roma are also said to be tracking Lucas.
Lucas Rodriges Moura da Silva is no relation of Liverpool’s defensive midfielder Lucas Leiva. However, Leiva and his fellow countrymen at Anfield in Doni and Fabio Aurelio could help to sway the young Brazilian’s decision when he eventually moves to Europe.
