Concern for Man United as Barcelona’s new manager is lining up a move for star man

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are still celebrating their Europa League success.

It ensured Champions League qualification and the opportunity to draft in some top class players from across Europe.

However, they might need to keep an eye on star man Ander Herrera amid reports linking him with an exit.

According to Spanish media outlet AS, Barcelona are set to announce Ernesto Valverde as their new manager and Ander Herrera is on his wishlist.

Ernesto Valverde, who most recently managed Athletic Bilbao, is close to being appointed as Luis Enrique’s successor at the Nou Camp.

Valverde is looking to improve on last season after Barcelona failed to win the La Liga and were knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter finals by Juventus.

Valverde has highlighted central midfield as an area which needs major improvement.

Manchester United are keen to keep Ander Herrera but Barcelona fancy him as he is versatile enough to play anywhere in the middle 3 of a 4-3-3 formation.

The 27-year-old has been one of Jose Mourinho’s most reliable performers with his displays in the middle of the park.

Barcelona are keen to sign the Spain international because of his defensive and attacking capabilities.
