Confirmed: Arsenal hold talks to secure experienced striker

Pato QPRArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted to see their club being proactive ahead of what they hope will be a busy transfer window, after it was confirmed Arsene Wenger had held talks concerning a top striker.

Metro quotes Corinthians director of football Edu Gasper, a former Gunners midfielder, as confirming a meeting with Wenger were potential deals were discussed.

‘I wasn’t there to tout him around but if people ask about him, I’m going to answer. I talked and they asked questions – not just about him, but about a few of our players. They know them well. I had lunch with Arsene Wenger and he asked about [Pato] and about others.’

Former AC Milan striker Pato, now 26, is keen to return to Europe and Arsenal’s need for a new striker potentially makes this a match made in heaven.

However, Arsenal fans in the bar aren’t too concerned by this rumour and are instead focusing on who the other players Wenger may have enquired about could be; leading them to brush-up on their knowledge of South American football.

Arsenal fans, would signing Pato be a good deal? Is he the right striker for Arsenal? Let us know in the comments below!
