The Stoke City fans are gathered around the jukebox this evening in The Transfer Tavern discussing comments made by their chairman relating to the future of two players at the club.
The Stoke Senital is reporting that Peter Coates has revealed he has opened talks with both Marko Arnautovic and Erik Pieters with regards to extending their current deals with the club.
With boss Mark Hughes keen to tie the pair up on longer deals, and with just 18 months remaining on their current deals it could leave the pair ripe for the picking come the summer. Speaking about contract renewals, Stoke chairman Coates said:
“Yes there are contracts we are working on at the moment. We are always aware of these things, of where we want to go with them, and are trying to make sure we get things done in good time.”
The Stoke fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted the club are taking steps to tie down important squad players to longer deals.
