Conte asks Abramovich for major signing, Chelsea could spend up to £65m to get the deal done

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Chelsea will sign a new striker this summer…

Diego Costa has done well this year, but the Spaniard recently hinted (according to Telefoot via Sky Sports) that he could yet move this summer, and for the Blues in the pub – it might be time for Chelsea to look elsewhere.

Indeed, it appears as though Antonio Conte is in agreement, with AS reporting that the Italian has personally asked Roman Abramovich to secure a deal for Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata, with Real Madrid likely to accept around £65 million for the striker.

Conte, is of course, well aware of Morata having previously made use of the Spaniard at Juventus, and it appears as though he sees him as the perfect man to lead the line at Stamford Bridge.

Whilst Morata’s goalscoring record isn’t particularly impressive, our landlord thinks that it is his general play that attracts Conte. Quick, technical and brilliant with the ball at his feet, Morata is far more than just a goalscorer.

This news has left the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern drooling into their pint glasses…
