Conte confirms that talented Chelsea duo will not leave the club this month

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been impressed with Antonio Conte’s approach to youth develop this season…

Players that have hardly had a look in in the past have been revitalised under the Italian, and whilst Chelsea have built up a reputation as a club that don’t afford opportunities to young players – that looks set to change under Antonio Conte.

Two young players that have received more game time than most this season are Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathaniel Chalobah, both of whom are highly-rated amongst the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern.

Nathaniel Chalobah, in particular, has seen his career flourish under Conte – with the Italian choosing to keep the midfielder despite the fact that he has spent the past few years on loan.

Whilst they have both been given an opportunity this season, there were still a few Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern that were touting the duo for loan moves away. After all, around the age of 20, players should really be playing every week – but neither have got even close to that so far.

However, speaking ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup clash with Brentford, Antonio Conte has revealed that neither player will be leaving the club on loan over then next few days – with both set to remain with the club until the end of the season at least.

Interestingly, Conte did note that Ola Aina could go on loan – though the defender is unlikely to feature this season either way.

The news that Loftus-Cheek and Chalobah will not be going on loan has delighted the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, many of whom feel that both are ready to play for the Chelsea first team.

With Chelsea set to face Brentford this weekend, our landlord is expecting both players to get some much-needed game time.
