Conte recieves boost as 24-year-old reveals delight at Chelsea role

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting seriously concerned about Chelsea’s goalkeeping situation at present…

Thibaut Courtois has been impressing this season, but with rumours linking him with a move back to Spain refusing to go away – his future has remained uncertain.

Alongside this, the future of Chelsea backup goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has been under the microscope, with Bournemouth reportedly keen on the Bosnian.

In truth, whilst Antonio Conte’s tenure so far has been plain sailing – it looks like he is facing a seismic battle to keep his goalkeeping collective together.

It isn’t all bad news for the Italian, though, with Thibaut Courtois confirming, via Sky Sports, that he is happy at Chelsea and the role that he currently has within the squad.

As reported by Sky Sports, Courtois said: “I have never felt so good since I arrived in Chelsea”.

He continued: “On the field, I am good…My game has improved a lot in the last two seasons. I sometimes have a few moments that are very difficult to manage but I’m doing well. I feel very confident right now”.

Courtois’ comments have come as a relief to the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, many of whom had been growing increasingly fearful that the Belgian could leave imminently. However, a few of the Blues by the bar are feeling slightly more cynical. They think that there have been a few too many rumours about Courtois potentially leaving – and they think that there is usually no smoke without fire.

Our landlord thinks that Antonio Conte needs to prepare for the worst, with Courtois’ departure still possible – especially at the end of the season.

Courtois has been in fine form for Chelsea this season, with the Belgian a constant in the Premier League under Antonio Conte.
