Conte reveals the 2 Chelsea youngsters that could get their chance against Everton on Wednesday

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were relieved when their side managed to bounce back against Watford on Saturday. It has been a very tough few weeks for Chelsea, and that path looked to be continuing when the Hornets went 2-1 up. Fortunately, thanks to Pedro, Michy Batsuayi and Cesar Azpilicueta, the Blues were able to finally secure that elusive Premier League win. They’ll be expected to repeat that feat on Wednesday against Everton.

Fortunately, the game against the Toffees holds less significance than a Premier League fixture, with the Carabao Cup not a particularly important trophy for Chelsea this season. Given that, it is likely that rotation will feature heavily for the Blues on Wednesday, with a few young players likely to get their chance.

Following Chelsea’s game against Watford, Antonio Conte spared a moment to discuss the game, and more specifically, he spared a moment to discuss which young players could get their chance. Speaking to the official Chelsea website, he said: “I think for the game against Everton it is a good opportunity to give a chance to young players like Charly Musonda and Kenedy”.

“They are young but they deserve this chance because they are working very well, they are improving and to see the improvement during a tough game against Everton, I think is important for the club”, he added.

Antonio Conte clearly views the game as an important one, but he also recognises that it offers a chance for young players to get a chance. Thus far, the likes of Musonda and Kenedy have found game time hard to come by, though they could be able to feature from the start on Wednesday.

This also would allow some of Chelsea’s regulars to get a break, notably Marcos Alonso at left-back, with Kenedy likely to come in for the Spaniard.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Chelsea fans in the pub love seeing young players get a chance, and the current crop of young Blues are amongst the most talented ever at Stamford Bridge.

Musonda scored in the last round, and so Conte will be expecting more of the same.

It’s going to be a very exciting game for Chelsea fans.
