The Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are still winding down their celebrations after winning the Premier League title last season, and cannot wait to see what manager Antonio Conte will do with the squad in his second term in charge.
Despite worries here in the bar that the Italian could leave the club this summer, it seems the former Juventus boss will be staying put and, according to reports in the London Evening Standard, he has laid out his summer plans to the owners at Stamford Bridge after agreeing a new deal at the club.
Conte, who will get his first full summer at the club this year, having joined after taking the Azzurri to the quarter-finals of the European Championships a year ago, has urged the powers that be to land his six targets as quick as possible in order to give him as much time as possible to work with them before a competitive ball is kicked.
As our landlord notes, things were left quite late last summer with both Marcos Alonso and David Luiz arriving on Deadline Day.
Chelsea fans, we want to hear from you! How important is it for Conte to get his targets in as soon as possible? Let us know…
