Conte set for talks with 28-year-old forward

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting increasingly concerned about the future of star forward Diego Costa…

The Spaniard, who has been vital for the Blues this season, has reportedly fallen out with manager over a proposed offer from China – leaving his Chelsea future in the balance.

He was left out of the Blues’ clash against Leicester City over the weekend, and whilst Chelsea performed in his absence – there is a genuine concern that their top scorer could be set to leave the club imminently.

Antonio Conte, though, is seemingly yet to give up on the Spaniard – with the Express reporting that the Italian is set to have clear-the-air talks with Costa tomorrow.

The Express also note that whilst tensions are high at present, Conte is expecting Costa to report for training tomorrow – with the hope seemingly being that the pair will come to an amicable conclusion.

You could cut the tension amongst the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern with a knife today, with many fearing that Diego Costa could be set to leave the club. This report has calmed their nerves somewhat, though, with Conte impressing so far this season with his man management skills.

His absence, irrelevant of how long it is, is sure to be a blow for Chelsea – with Costa scoring 14 goals in just 19 appearances so far this season. He has won games on his own this year, and when he isn’t playing – Chelsea are always at a disadvantage.

Our landlord thinks that Costa’s departure could be inevitable, but he hopes that the Spaniard will remain in London until the end of the season, at least.
