Conte will be delighted: Great news for Chelsea ahead of vital game against Roma on Tuesday

There is a lot of expectation building amongst the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern. The Blues are set to take on Roma on Tuesday evening, with a win likely to be enough to put them in a very commanding position at the top of their Champions League group. A loss, meanwhile, could make things far more difficult, and so Antonio Conte will be going all out to secure the three points.

Fortunately, then, a recent update on the official Chelsea website is likely to delight both the manager and the fans alike. It reads that N’Golo Kante has taken part in Chelsea’s final home training session ahead of the game, which certainly seems to suggest that he is fit after missing several weeks through injury. Whilst the story falls short of confirming his seat on the plane, the fact that he is training with the main group would seem to suggest that he is likely to be involved, as Antonio Conte is unlikely to get him amongst the match training squad if he isn’t going to feature.

This is, of course, a huge boost for the Blues, with Kante’s importance to this team simply undeniable. An unstoppable midfielder, his defensive work rate is something that Conte builds the team around, whilst his boundless energy makes him a menace in the heart of the pitch.

Whether he will be able to play for 90 minutes or not remains to be seen, but the mere prospect of him featuring is exciting the fans in the Transfer Tavern.

Landlord’s Verdict

Kante will certainly feature if he’s available, such is the magnitude of this game.

That said, Conte must be careful to ensure that he doesn’t suffer a recurrence of an injury ahead of the Blues’ next game against Man Utd. Both fixtures are essential for Chelsea, and Kante’s presence will make them easier – but only if he is 100% fit.
