Liverpool fans are looking up excitedly here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Liverpool confirmed that Jordan Henderson has signed a new deal to stay at Anfield.Now as one of our punters notes, Henderson is a huge player for the club and especially with all the chaos surrounding Raheem Sterling and his contract talks, it was vital to get Henderson to agree a deal with the Reds.
Money was thought to be a sticking point for Henderson, but after agreeing on £100,000 per week, the midfielder has agreed to stay with Liverpool and we can’t blame him.
Given Steven Gerrard will be leaving the club in the summer, keeping Henderson is all the more important and Liverpool can at least now look to the future with a player they consider to be their next skipper firmly committed to the club and his future there.
