Could Arsenal rekindle summer interest in Leicester City striker?

The Arsenal supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern have not been overly pleased with their team’s form in the Barclays Premier League and they go into the last round of fixtures with their top four fate out of their own hands.

The Gunners have not been firing on all cylinders during the 2016/17 season and long serving manager Arsene Wenger could find himself out of a job come the summer months.

Regardless of who is the manager when the transfer window reopens there is little doubt that the club needs some serious work doing to their squad ahead of next season, if they have any chance whatsoever of becoming a force during 2017/18.

One area that the Gunners could look to strengthen is in attack and a striker who the club may rekindle their interest in is Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, who could see this summer as the perfect time to leave the former champions of England.

Arsenal won’t see a striker as a necessity, although if they can persuade someone with proven Premier League experience such as Vardy to sign for the club, it wouldn’t exactly be a bad thing.

The England striker hasn’t been at his best this season by any means and a chance to join a club like Arsenal could reignite the clinical striker’s career and also bolster Arsenal’s chances of finishing higher in the league.

One Gunners supporter is sat reading the latest football headlines in the newspaper with a pint of real ale and he believes that Arsenal should be looking to sign a central defender and a holding midfielder, although he does concede that a striker such as Vardy should not be passed up on.

Arsenal fans, would you welcome the Leicester striker to your club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
