Transfer rumours and Chelsea go hand in hand, and another one has come our way here at the Football Transfer Tavern, with Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard speculating that Everton’s Maroune Fellaini could be on his way to Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian international is currently under investigation from the FA for his blatant headbutt of Ryan Shawcross in the weekends 1-1 draw with Stoke, but this shouldn’t retract from the superb season Fellaini has enjoyed on Merseyside thus far.
Fellaini is facing a three game ban for his actions, but this development hasn’t stopped Chelsea signalling their interest.
Besides Saturday, Fellaini has been in fantastic form this season, and a lot of Europe’s top clubs have started to take notice.
Roman Abramovich see’s him as the long term replacement for Frank Lampard, and is ready to offer Everton more than £20 million for his services next month.
Despite Fellaini signing a contract extension just 13 months ago, it is thought he wants to leave Goodison Park and would be open to a switch to the capital.
