Grim time to be a West Ham fan.
Whilst their coalition with Newham Council looks to edge Tottenham’s in relation to the Olympic Leagacy, it must be beyond damaging to their bid to be languishing at the foot of the table.
West Ham’s next game is at home to Wigan and frankly if they can’t justify some optimism after that game then they may as well throw the towel in altogether.
Hope springs eternal of course and in football things can happen overnight. Salvation is often only a fax machine away.
Srdan Lakic is the name in the frame. He’s Croatian and currently plays for German side Kaiserslautern but it is widely understood he’d prefer to move on.
And at only £2M it might make sense to not spend that on a settlement package for Avram, but give this season one last thrash.
