As punters tuck into their lunch in The Transfer Tavern, John Ferreira from France Football takes a break from his camembert and baguette to tell us the latest on Hull striker Daniel Cousin.
The former Rangers man signed for the Tigers only last year but hasn’t ruled out a move back to France from the Premier League side, perhaps with Nice.
Cousin told Ferreira that he wasn’t aware of Nice’s interest but added: “I think Nice are a good club. They’re also in the South of France, not far from my home. And the sporting challenge is appealing. So why not.”
Cousin also said he’d had a positive meeting with Hull’s directors who insisted they wanted to add to last season’s squad at the KC Stadium, rather than lose players.
He said: “They’ve started [recruiting] with a young player from Boulogne-sur-Mer, Steven Mouyokolo, and the Fulham striker Bobby Zamora. They’re going to carry on. They’re looking at Benjani.”
So how much red wine was consumed before this story developed? Could the Gabon International be on the move yet again? Should this rumour Fly or Die?
