Critics are wrong, results of Mourinho’s methods this season prove he’s still got it

Jose Mourinho has always divided fans. Whether he’s winning or losing, someone always has something negative to say about him.

It might be a slight on his tactical approach, with many claiming that he’s defensive, or it might be his often aggressive and uninterested personality off the field in press conferences.

One thing that can’t be argued with, though, is his track record.

Nonetheless, his relative lack of success over the last year or so has brought question marks towards him, with fans and pundits alike questioning him. Chris Sutton, for example, called him ‘stuck in the past’ back in August.

However, one thing that has always separated Jose Mourinho from others is that he’s able to get the best out of his players. He’s always been a tremendous manager of men, and that’s still on display at Old Trafford.

The only people that deserve criticism are the ones that have proclaimed Jose Mourinho to be at the end of his tenure; because it’s clear he’s only just getting started.

Nothing proves this more than the resurgence of Anthony Martial.

A few months ago, Martial’s career at Old Trafford looked over. He wasn’t playing, he wasn’t happy, and the Frenchman just didn’t look like a good fit.

Fast forward to October 2018, though, and it’s a different story. Martial is, at present, the star of the show at Old Trafford. He’s won the club games and he’s done it with enthusiasm and commitment – and that’s a far cry from how he’s been as of late.

People can question Mourinho’s moods or his technique or his¬†tactics all they want, but Martial is proof yet again that the Portuguese hasn’t lost anything. He’s helped bring Luke Shaw back when it all looked over, and he’s now done the same with Anthony Martial.
