The Mirror are a bag of tricks this morning, but I can see where they’re coming from.
Crouch’s League goalscoring record this season is worse than Alan Hutton’s. But to put to slap a £8M ONO on his windscreen seems a little curious when Robbie Keane can rarely get off the bench and get a game. And whilst Pavyluchenko is adored by many Spurs fans he’s regarded by many more as an an indulgence.
The perennial argument in relation to Crouch is his ungainliness. What this has to do with his ability as a footballer is anyone’s guess, but again his League form has been marred with half header, toe pokes and face pulling to rival ‘The Scream’.
Redknapp is the no-brainer choice for the next England job and Paul Smith in the Mirror believes talks of some description have already taken place to secure the Spurs’ skippers services.
Capello is surely the last nail in the coffin of foreign managers of the national team. His latest squad list is a blast. I don’t really care for Kevin Davies, but omit him in favour of some Championship bloke smacks of Walcott going to the World Cup.
Harry to coach England is of course not going to happen next week. Fabio is expected to hang on to the end of his contract. So for Tottenham fans, Harry is well aware that he needs to keep his stock rising to get the deal rubber stamped.
