The Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern are not happy with this…
Wilfried Zaha has been in the press a lot lately, and the good news for the Crystal Palace fans in attendance is that much of it has been down to his stellar performances on the pitch.
The attacker has been in outstanding form this season, and whilst Crystal Palace themselves have struggled – he has been a shining light in the Eagles’ attack.
There was an audible gasp heard in the Transfer Tavern, then, when reports emerged earlier today, via the Sun, that suggested he could be on his way out of Selhurst Park.
According to the Sun, new Palace boss Sam Allardyce is reportedly angry about Zaha’s decision to represent the Ivory Coast during the 2017 African Cup of Nations – as it will mean that he could miss over a month of action.
Interestingly, they note that his anger could even lead to a sale – and with Tottenham reportedly keen on the attacker and January fast approaching – could a Palace departure actually be on the cards for the Ivorian?
The Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern are pretty concerned about this, especially given how well Zaha has performed this year. The attacker has scored 3 times and assisted a further 6 times, which when you consider how poor Palace have been as a collective is a pretty astonishing record.
That sort of form is always going to attract attention, and the Tottenham fans in the Tavern are hoping that they can be the benefactors of Allardyce’s anger.
