Crystal Palace boss backs winger for England spot this summer

Wilfried ZahaThe Crystal Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been less than impressed with their sides form since the turn of the year, with the Eagles yet to win a Premier League game in 2016.

Despite some impressive displays before the New Year festivities, Alan Pardew’s men just haven’t found their touch so far this year and will be hoping for an improvement when they host Watford this weekend.

One man who has been in good form for the Eagles throughout this season is ex-Manchester United man Wilfried Zaha, to the point where his manager has backed him for a place in the England squad for the Euros in the summer.

The landlord spotted the Palace boss’ comments in his copy of the Croydon Advertiser where he said:

“He offers something different. Roy Hodgson must be licking his lips for the summer because everyone is in such good form and he has good options. I still think Wilf is worth a look, personally. He is worth a place in that squad.”

One Eagles supporter is sat enjoying a pint with his mates and thinks whilst Zaha isn’t quite as impressive as Pardew is making out, he would be a good option for England from the bench when full-backs begin to tire.

Palace fans… Have you been impressed with Zaha this season? Let us know in the comments below!
