The Crystal Palace fans who are competing in a darts tournament in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports linking them with a move for a Danish striker.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Premier League side are considering making a move for Werder Bremen’s former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner.
Bendtner has been out of favour with the Bundesliga side and has not featured in the side since November, and Pardew is reportedly open to a loan move for the striker to come to Selhurst Park after seeing his side fail to hit the back of the net in their last five outings.
“Bendtner is available, someone else we are looking at. He’s someone who can fit into our group and give us a lift.”
“He’s come up and another couple of others who have been thrown at us. With some players, doing a permanent transfer can be risky in this window so we’re looking at loan options with a view – that’s probably a better scenario.”
“There seems to be a lot of steam. The kettles are boiling everywhere, but no tea’s being made. We’re all kind of waiting for someone to make the tea. I hope he makes the tea soon.”
“I think we need another striker. We need the competition anyway. Sometimes I like to play with two strikers and since Yannick Bolasie is injured I haven’t been able to do that.”
The Palace fans in The Transfer Tavern are not entirely sure that Bendtner is the answer to their goal scoring problems this season as he has not exactly been the most prolific scorer during his career to date.
