Crystal Palace cast eye over promising Newcastle youngster

PardewThe Crystal Palace fans are gathered at the dartboard this evening in The Transfer Tavern and discussing reports linking them with a promising youngster.

Teamtalk is reporting that Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is eyeing a move for talented Newcastle United prospect Liam Gibson.

The 18-year-old left back was named on the bench in Steve McClaren’s sides fixture against ¬†West Bromwich Albion earlier this month.

Gibson turned out for the club in a friendly against Lillestrom last weekend and enhanced his chances of a first team place, as McClaren looks at options to cover the current defensive crisis ongoing at the club at present.

Alan Pardew has been alerted to the fact that Gibson, who is in the final year of a three year scholarship at the club, has not yet been offered a professional deal for next season at present and could be ready to make a swoop for the 18 year old.

The Crystal Palace fans in The Tavern are pleased to be linked with young English talent and hope this will be a regular thing that the club buy from this country rather than overseas.

Palace fans, would this be a good signing? Let us know in the comments below!
