Crystal Palace confirmed their place in the Premier League last weekend with a 2-1 victory over Stoke City and fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting the club to strengthen accordingly this summer.
Roy Hodgson has ensured the Eagles will be playing Premier League football next season after leading the club to a number of positive results in recent months, and the 70-year-old will be wanting to make a number of additions as well as keeping hold of his star players this summer.
According to a report in The Sun, the Eagles have set their eyes on West Ham United’s Michail Antonio as someone who could help them steer clear of a relegation battle next season. The 28-year-old has struggled with injuries, however, he has proved to be influential for the hammers when fit, but he could put a significant dent in their transfer budget as he is valued at £16.2million by transfermarkt.
Antonio can be utilised at the back, as a winger, or as a forward and he would provide Crystal Palace with a number of options, making him an attractive target for Hodgson.
The Crystal Palace fans in the Tavern would be delighted with the possibility of bringing the one-time England international to Selhurst Park this summer, due to the versatility of the player. The punters will feel that they will be acquiring a player who could easily fit into the squad in any position, should he remain fit, although it could prove to be a costly piece of business for the Eagles if West Ham are willing to sell to a London rival.
