Premier League side Crystal Palace are reportedly monitoring the situation of Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Seny Dieng, along with the likes of Leeds United and Arsenal.
Dieng, currently 26, has caught the attention of many clubs who are looking to strengthen the goalkeeping position, even though some of them signed goalkeepers in the summer transfer window.
Palace keeping tabs on Dieng
The Sun have reported that Palace are one of the clubs who are looking at the goalkeeper, along with Leeds and Arsenal. The Eagles did sign Stoke City’s Jack Butland but the Englishman hasn’t played even once in the Premier League because of Vicente Guaita’s presence.
Do Palace need another goalkeeper?
The Swiss goalkeeper – Dieng, has become QPR’s number one goalkeeper and the report claims that with Palace keen to sign players this month, the 26-year-old is their ‘top target’.
Signing Dieng may not make sense for Palace
This season, Guaita has made 17 Premier League appearances for the Eagles and as a result of that, Butland is yet to play even once in all competitions. For Palace though, the Englishman has played once for the club’s Under-23s side in Premier League 2.
That is a reflection of the goalkeeping situation at Palace and because of that, bringing in another player for that position may not make too much sense.
