Crystal Palace finally managed to add a striker to their ranks as the deadline appeared to be looming on Thursday night.
The Eagles chairman, Steve Parish, revealed the club’s delight at being able to land the striker and believes he will be a ‘magnificent addition’.
“This is a fantastic signing for Crystal Palace. Michy is a player we’ve long admired, and I’m delighted that we’ve finally managed to get him in a red and blue shirt. He will be a magnificent addition to our squad,” he said.
The Belgium international had been out on loan with Valencia, however, the Spanish side were keen to terminate the agreement after a poor showing.
The 25-year-old had a great reputation of finding the back of the net in the early stages of his career, however, things have stalled for him since joining Chelsea.
Roy Hodgson will be looking forward to adding Batshuayi to his first-team plans as they look to start climbing up the Premier League table and possibly put a FA Cup run together.
Batshuayi is a brilliant coup for Crystal Palace and could be considered one of the deals of Deadline Day.
The striker will add some much-needed goalscoring threat to their attacking line as The Eagles look to ease the pressures they find themselves under.
With the returns of Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham as well, things could be about to become exciting for those at Selhurst Park.
