Crystal Palace confirm Max Meyer arrival

Crystal Palace have started to make their squad considerably stronger this summer as they look to compete in the Premier League.

The Eagles have added Vicente Guaita to their goalkeeping ranks, whilst Chiekhou Kouyate was also confirmed recently as the club continued to look at the central midfield position.

The Selhurst Park outfit were deemed rather thin in that area of the field, following the departures of Yohan Cabaye and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, however, it looks as though Roy Hodgson may have just addressed that issue with a huge signing.

The club have confirmed on their official website that Max Meyer has joined them on a three-year deal following his release from Schalke.

The 22-year-old, who has been capped with the German national team, is thought to be one of the hottest young talents in European football and is a coup for a club like the south London outfit.

The club also confirmed that he will be wearing the number 7 shirt, leaving an assumption that he will be a regular starter for the side in the upcoming campaign.

The Verdict:

Meyer’s arrival is a huge coup for Palace, especially considering that they have not had to spend a penny on his transfer.

The 22-year-old has been tracked by some of Europe’s top clubs in the past and has shown that he has plenty of ability.

Palace will be hoping that he can shine on the Premier League stage and will be looking forward to seeing what he can produce on the field.
