Crystal Palace considering £10 million move for Reece James

Crystal Palace fans are probably starting to get very frustrated as their side just can’t seem to ensure consistency in the Premier League, with a positive result often being followed up by a negative one.

It’s safe to say that Roy Hodgson’s January transfer window business has definitely had a positive impact on the field in recent times, so perhaps he’ll be looking to conduct even more business in the summer.

What’s the news?

Crystal Palace are considering a £10 million move for Chelsea’s Reece James, according to The Sun (10 March, page 61) (via HITC).

Indeed, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka the subject of interest (as per The Sun) over the past month, perhaps James could be drafted in as a direct replacement for the promising right-back.

But, it’s understood that Chelsea don’t want to lose one of their brightest prospects and are planning to send James on loan to one of Europe’s top clubs to help him hone his trade.

The Verdict:

Reece James has established himself one of the standout performers in the Championship this season as he continues to defy expectations. The youngster constantly causes problems down the right-hand side at loan club Wigan Athletic and he’s already developed a good end product with his crosses often finding the target.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka would be a huge loss for Palace fans as one of their favourite players at this moment in time, but James is very similar to the Crystal Palace man and is just as promising, so fans would soon warm to him.

It must be nice for supporters to see their side already looking to splash the cash in the summer.

Crystal Palace fans, do you think Reece James is good enough to replace Wan-Bissaka?
