Crystal Palace dealt some bad news in the chase for Premier League star

There have been murmurs of discontent coming from the Crystal Palace booth in the Transfer Tavern since they heard the worrying news about Mamadou Sakho.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed that there is no deal in place for the Eagles to make their star defender’s loan move into a permanent switch.

This means that Crystal Palace do not necessarily have priority over signing Mamadou Sakho and it could open to door to other Premier League clubs, who have been lurking.

The Sun recently broke the news that Mamadou Sakho was high on the wishlist of West Bromwich Albion, with Tony Pulis keen to build on this season’s success by dipping into the transfer market.

Sakho joined Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day from Liverpool and Allardyce claims that it was the rushed deal which meant no clause to make the loan permanent was put in place.

The former England boss said:

“There isn’t a clause because his deal was done in the Bournemouth corridor after we had won 2-0, with me and Steve Parrish finishing the negotiation over the phone to try and secure Mama and now, what a great deal that was.

“It was a negotiation on the final day – it was just about getting it done, getting the loan deal done, not haggling about other things other than just making sure we get him here.

“At the moment that has paid off for us.”

With the Frenchman being shown the cold shoulder by Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, he might well be on the move this summer but his next destination is in doubt.

The Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that he has enjoyed his time at Selhurst Park and wants to stay but the West Brom fans by the bar want to see him at the Hawthorns next season.

Crystal Palace fans – can you still get Sakho? Let us know below…
