Crystal Palace fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping their club can make the most Newcastle’s relegation.
According to the Croydon Advertiser, the Eagles are plotting a surprise move for Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul.
Alan Pardew had to deal with a hairy moment last season when he dropped Wayne Hennessy after a few goalkeeping errors.
Now, it looks as though the Eagles are keen to resolve this issue once and for all this summer by moving for the 28-year old custodian following the Magpies’ relegation.
However, the Dutchman may be seen as a risky target as he has been out since October due to an anterior cruciate knee injury.
Still, Pardew knows the shot stopper well from his days as Toon manager and he is reportedly keen to bring him to Selhurst Park ahead of the new season.
With just one year remaining on Krul’s contract at St James’ Park, it is very likely he could be reunited with his former boss and stay in the Premier League.
