Crystal Palace: Fans delighted as £7.2m-rated man touted for January exit - Crystal Palace

Fans of Crystal Palace have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed a report that claimed Patrick van Aanholt could be sold in the January transfer window.

According to the report by The Sun (via TEAMtalk), with Van Aanholt’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, the south London side could look to move the 30-year-old on this month, rather than lose him for free in the summer.

Who did he make his Crystal Palace debut against?

Since joining Palace from Sunderland in what was a £9.45 million deal back in January of 2017, the Netherlands international has gone on to feature 121 times for the club, chipping in with 14 goals and providing six assists along the way.

However, following the emergence of academy graduate Tyrick Mitchell, the £7.2 million-rated Van Aanholt has been in and out of Roy Hodgson’s side so far this season, with it now appearing that the left-back’s days at Selhurst Park are numbered.

And, after Palace Transfers HQ shared the report on Twitter, fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing to be delighted at the prospect of Van Aanholt leaving the club.
