Crystal Palace fans everywhere have been demanding Hodgson goes after Brighton battering

It was a rough night for Eagles’ fans last night. The Selhurst Park faithful travelled to the Amex Stadium in hope of seeing a win in their first real derby of the season, yet what followed was nothing short of a disaster. Despite going down to ten men and losing both Glenn Murray and Pascal Gross to injury, Brighton went into half-time with an unassailable 3-0 lead.

If you’ve ever seen a night to forget for a football fan, this was it for the Palace faithful. Those who made the trip are well within their rights to be demanding a refund and they’ll all be hoping that they can bounce back from this embarrassment as soon as possible, especially with a tough run of hectic fixtures ahead of them in December. Roy Hodgson, though, will have some serious questions to answer when the dust has settled on this result.

The 71-year-old tactician has gotten things wrong before, but this is right up there with some of his biggest blunders. To lose so convincingly to a massive rival despite being the side with the numerical advantage simply isn’t good enough and you can fully understand the supporters calls for their manager to be given the boot after a result like that. We all know that Steve Parish can be quite reactionary, you only have to ask Frank de Boer to confirm that, but Hodgson will likely get a few more games to improve on that shocking display if he is being considered for the sack.

It seems pretty clear from these Palace fans’ tweets that Hodgson’s days may be numbered at Selhurst Park unless he can turn it around in the coming weeks.
