Crystal Palace: Fans go crazy after controversial VAR decision

Many Crystal Palace fans have expressed their love for VAR after the club were on the right side of a call which would have seen them go 3-2 down.
The Eagles thought they fell 3-2 behind after Sokratis scored his second of the game following a Pepe corner. To the surprise of many, the goal was checked by VAR and it was deemed that Calum Chambers had actually made a foul in the build-up, though many have criticised the decision, including Match of the Day’s Gary Lineker who said the goal should have stood on Twitter.
Roy Hodgson’s side went onto draw the match 2-2 after falling 2-0 behind, and also had the rub of the green with another VAR decision which saw Palace win a penalty.
Palace fans have breathed a sigh of relief though after Sokratis’ second was ruled out, which would have been the third goal they conceded in the match through a corner.
Fans responded to the news on Twitter with elation, with many Palace fans saying how much they love the new system, bearing in mind it’s helped the club a number of times in the past few weeks.
