Crystal Palace: Fans heap praise on Christian Benteke’s first half display

Many Crystal Palace fans showered praise on striker Christian Benteke during his side’s Premier League match at home to Sheffield United on Saturday.
The 30-year-old started the game alongside Wilfried Zaha as part of a front two, forming the tip of Roy Hodgson’s old reliable 4-4-2 formation.
This helped Hodgson’s side the lead in as little as four minutes. Zaha broke down the left and cut the ball back to the Belgium international, who provided an intelligent flick, with a stroke of fortune, that found Jeffrey Schlupp running into the penalty area to stroke home and give the hosts the lead.
Benteke continues to be a key part of the former England manager’s team. Before the match, he had scored three goals in his last 11 appearances (TransferMarkt).
