Crystal Palace will be looking to build on their brilliant 2-0 FA Cup fourth-round win over Tottenham when they take on Southampton in the Premier League tonight.
The Eagles managed to put in an excellent display against Mauricio Pochettino’s men with Connor Wickham and Andros Townsend the goalscorers on the day.
But on top of the goal-scoring English duo, goalkeeper Julian Speroni also deserves credit for the shock victory in the recent London derby.
The 39-year-old made some incredible saves during the game, recovering from his disastrous performance versus Liverpool in Crystal Palace’s last Premier League outing, giving manager Roy Hodgson a decision to make.
The Crystal Palace boss confirmed in his pre-match press conference (via Crystal Palace official Twitter account) yesterday that all of his senior shot-stoppers are available including Vicente Guaita.
Guaita had been the man in between the sticks for the south London club in recent weeks, and it would not be a surprise to see him recalled to the first team tonight now that he has returned from his injury.
You can have a look at what Crystal Palace supporters are saying about the team’s goalkeeper situation below…
It’s gotta be Guaita with Speroni in the bench. Wayne Hënselreich has had too many chances.
